The ambitious presumption of what God wants

The ambitious presumption of what God wants, can lead to ruin in every corner of our lives and eventually our faith.  There have been good churches, which are growing and doing fine, they invest in the community outside the church, as well as the members of the congregation.  However we cut it, one thing must remain  foremost in the mind of each individual and that is doing the will of God not the will of man as it is in my own understanding.  At one point in time, it was godly ambition that moved the church forward, and it was a time when being a Christian was popular.  Now being Christian is no longer popular, and political correctness has went to the forefront of social popularity.
Churches have slowly moved from what is righteous in the eye of God to the what is acceptable in the eye of the social environment.  The enticement of growing larger churches have set in action a tidal wave of user friendly churches to meet the demand of the prospective new member or family.  The way many “old fashioned” church leaders view “user friendly”  the Holy Spirit is the user, and we are the servants.
The church, misleadingly, invokes God’s leadership but uses ambitious presumption in believing their direction is the will of God.  The “user friendly” churches that are growing by leaps and bounds, are the ones that offer programs that meet the needs of the family and individuals while participating in activities within the facility, and how to access the programs or service provided by the church, without diminishing or compromising the message.
Churches that are holding fast to what they may think God wants them to be doing, however, they need to revisit scripture which tells them the will of God for the church and His priorities such as the great commission, and attending to the poor (widows and orphans), following the Lord Jesus in building up the kingdom.  The idea of allowing the social environment to mandate change in the church in the name of progress and political correctness is not what the Lord has in mind for the church.
The loudest complaint form the social setting is “the Christian is intolerant of what ever”  there has not been any good Christian theologians stand up in their faith and tell it like it is, the Christian is not intolerant of the people or their other faiths, what we are intolerant of is SIN, False Doctrines, and the attempt of those to intimidate the Christian voice.
