GREAT AWAKENING

We Need Another Great Awakening Reblogged on R.S. Helms Commentary from WOW! Magazine Is Jordan Peterson the avatar of a 21st century Great Awakening? by Bookworm The Jordan Peterson event I attended was a "happening" that made me think Americans are craving a spiritual Great Awakening that will bind us as a nation. For some time now I have had running through my brain the thought that America needs a Great Awakening along the lines of the First Great Awakening in 1730s and 1740s. Large segments of America are suffering from spiritual malaise. America's inner cities are in a state of despair and disrepair, plagued by high crime, high poverty, missing fathers, and a general sense of apocalyptic failure. The inner cities, though, are only the most visible symptom of a nationwid

Spirit of the Lord

Spirit of the Lord The congregation is singing quite well this morning I thought to myself, as I bellowed out the words to that praise chorus “Everlasting God”; the Sanctuary was about our normal Sunday morning crowd of about three or four hundred, so yes, I didn’t have to worry about people thinking about the old guy making an “awful”  noise to the Lord.  Being a retired Pastor, I always expect the Holy Spirit to show up, and perhaps in my expectancy it is easy for me to feel the presence of the Lord.  It has been that way since joining almost a year ago.  We have a church that allows the Pastor to preach the word, and many times it is what one may call “the state of the community”, and I like that because I know that all the problems we are having in our nation, and in the world will only be made easier with the yoke of Jesus. Mt. 11: 28—30 tells us about it… v.28)” Come to Me all you who labor and are heavily laden, and I will give you rest”… v.29) “

Jesus wrote on the ground

Jesus Wrote on the Ground The Supreme Court decided public prayer at a public meeting was constitutional.  That is a great decision on their part; however, it has some of the anti Christians, anti God people hopping mad.  There have been many posts and comments from both sides of the argument, many yeas, and some nay.  Bear in mind however, that both liberal and progressive bureaucrats have had their negative comments.  For me, I am rejoicing in the Lord over the victory, they would not get so “red-faced” if it did not hit home.  After reading a cartoon posted in the TownHall conservative webzine, I commented about something about how prayer in public reveals the sin of those listening.  That reminded me of a sermon I once wrote and delivered, “Jesus started to write on the ground”, it comes from the book of John 8 th chapter and verses 3 —11. Couple of points, concerning SIN our sin and how God always points it out   fo

Beyond Disrespect..

Beyond Disrespect In the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, Abraham asked the Lord to spare the city if he could find 50 righteous people. God responded to Abraham's plea "If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all ...Genesis 18:16-33 The movie " Corpus Christi " is due to be released this June to August. It is a disgusting film set to appear in America later this year which depicts Jesus and his disciples as homosexuals! As a play, this has already been in theaters for a while. It's called "Corpus Christi" which means "The Body of Christ". It's a revolting mockery of our Lord. But we Christians can make a difference. That's why I am sending this e-mail to you. If you do send this around, we just might be able to prevent this film from being shown in Canada and America . Let's stand for what we believe and stop the mockery of Jesus Christ our Savior. Where do we stand

PB's Commentary catch-up

Hi there, this is not an endorsement of any political candidate, but the contrary, because politicians are simply politicians and it comes down to the one that can be believed the most to do most of what he or she says they will do. Who Will it be?                                                                  With that in mind, who do you think will win the Republican nomination?  Nonetheless, we have one which has never been connected to actual politics, and why should we waste a good man on the likes of our congress and administration, that would come under the heading of blood sacrifice, without any atonement!  From the two top runners in this bid for the formal Whitehouse bid, we get politics and politics, with Romney we have a politician, and with Cain we have that, which we should have had three years ago; the African-American who would have taken this nation in the right direction, maybe.  With Romney, we have a politician who like most, have had their share of fail
