Welcome To The Twilight Zone
One of my favorite episodes of The Twilight Zone is Monsters Are Due On Maple Street. On a peaceful suburban street, strange occurrences, purposely caused by hidden aliens, stoke the residents’ paranoia to a disastrous intensity. Once friendly neighbors start accusing one another and then, inevitably, begin killing each other.
We are now living in a sort of twilight zone, a science fiction horror movie. Many of us are being told to spy on each other, monitor one another, report any deviancy, take pictures. We have been ordered to close our churches, our schools, our restaurants, our businesses, no family dinners or get-togethers, use social distancing, practically everyone needs a haircut. Our president, who is not totally immune to misinformation, is actually being advised that the economic lockdown and the social distancing should continue until 2022. My God, is everyone nuts?

As of today, 26.4 million previously employed Americans are out of work. They are now dependent on Federal checks to sustain their families. That’s roughly one in six previously employed Americans, now jobless.

The ambitious presumption of what God wants, can lead to ruin in every corner of our lives and eventually our faith.   There have been good churches, which are growing and doing fine, they invest in the community outside the church, as well as the members of the congregation.   However we cut it, one thing must remain  foremost in the mind of each individual and that is doing the will of God not the will of man as it is in my own understanding.   At one point in time, it was godly ambition that moved the church forward, and it was a time when being a Christian was popular.   Now being Christian is no longer popular, and political correctness has went to the forefront of social popularity.   Churches have slowly moved from what is righteous in the eye of God to the what is acceptable in the eye of the social environment.   The enticement of growing larger churches have set in action a tidal wave of user friendly churches to meet the demand of ...
